The Kirk D. Baxter Wellness Center at Body Positive focuses on services that offer a variety of Nutritional and Naturopathic interventions designed to improve quality of life and overall health. Natural treatments can help minimize the side effects of HIV/AIDS and HIV medications.
Our services include nutritional counseling and dietary recommendations from Registered Dietitians (RDs), and acupuncture, physical manipulation, and natural IV treatments administered by Naturopathic Medical Doctors (NMDs). Additionally, students from local naturopathic schools and nutritional programs provide care to our clients in a supervised setting. Prescriptions for dietary supplements, and vitamins and herbs are written for and dispensed from our Vitamin and Herb Shop. Body Positive Wellness providers have specialized training in their field, as well as the field of HIV/AIDS.
Our HIV-centered Dietitians and Naturopaths provide special one-on-one care to our HIV+ clients. Appointments vary from 30 minutes to two hours, depending on the client’s treatment needs. Our providers take the time to listen to their clients’ concerns, paying close attention to not only the physical side effects of the disease, but the emotional strains as well.
